Utah

One of our all-time favorite trips was a week-long camper van adventure during which we saw all five of the National Parks located in Southern Utah in addition to a bunch of other great state parks and sites. We began the trip in Vegas and finish in SLC.

Bryce National Park

A one of a kind orange canyon with countless beautiful views and stunning hoodoos at every turn.

Zion National Park

Bryce's nearby partner, known for great hiking trails like Angel's Rest and the Narrows

Capitol Reef National Park

Travel down Highway 24 to visit the Giffords Homestead, see the Petroglyphs, and take in the stunning views

Canyonlands National Park

Home to the famous Mesa Arch (check out the license plates in Utah) and a number of mind-blowing lookout spots.

Maybe the best known and popular of the Utah National Parks. Located just 30 miles or so north of Moab, the place is worthy of its name as there is no shortage of red rock arches, but there is a shortage of parking, so get there early as the gates can be shut as soon as 9 AM, especially during the heavy tourist season.

Arches National Park

Dead Horse State Park

Like Escalante Staircase, Dead Horse does not get the hype of the surrounding National Parks but it has lots of good hikes and might be the best spot to view the mighty Colorado River.

Escalante Staircase National Monument

Overlooked among its more famous National Park neighbors, this find can be easily missed, but it is well worth taking some extra time to explore

Snow Canyon State Park

A lesser-known gem located to the northwest of St. George. It is a great first spot if you are starting your trip out of Las Vegas

Salt Lake City

The capital city and home to the Morman Temple. We ended our trip here , but it is a good place to start as well.

Moab

A mecca for the active and relaxed traveler like with biking, rafting, shopping and rafting galore.
